Time Tracking
Record the time you spend on a matter, either by logging it manually or by running the built-in timer as you work. Recorded time feeds straight into your invoices, so nothing billable slips through.
The Time panel
Open the Time tab to see every entry recorded on the matter. Each row shows the date, a description, the user who logged it, the duration, the rate and the resulting amount. Entries that have already been invoiced carry a green Billed badge. At the foot of the list you'll see the unbilled total — the hours and value not yet on an invoice.
Adding time manually
Click + Add Time to log an entry after the fact.
Enter a description of the work, the duration in hours and minutes, and the date, then click Add. The rate is applied for you (see below), and the amount is calculated automatically.
Editing an entry
Click any unbilled row to edit it. You can change the description, duration or date and Save, or Delete the entry entirely.
Note
Using the timer
To capture time as you work, click Start Timer on the Time tab. The timer keeps running as you move around the app — a live counter with a red dot appears in the sidebar, so you always know it's going.
When you're done, click Stop Timer (the Start Timer button becomes Stop while a timer is running).
A short dialog asks what you worked on. Type a description and choose Stop & Save to turn the elapsed time into a time entry. You can also Discard to drop the timer without saving, or Cancel to leave it running.
Rates
Your hourly rate comes from your personal settings and is applied automatically to the time you record. If your rate is wrong, update it in General settings.
From time to invoice
Unbilled time flows through to billing in two ways: select entries here and invoice them, or pull them in while building an invoice. See Invoices. To review unbilled time across every matter, use the Unbilled Time view on the dashboard.
